Inaugural Velocity Ride Raises $1.4 for Columbia

October 7, 2017

NEW YORK, October 7, 2017 — After two years of planning, the inaugural Velocity rode from the Hudson Valley into NYC today and raised $1.4 million for cancer research and programs at Columbia University Medical Center.  Eventage developed and completely executed the unique concept of the event, where some riders began 62.5 miles from the finish and then merged in with others at 45, 25 and 10 miles out.  Riders, family and friends were then invited into the iconic Ft. Washington Armory for a finish festival and concert by Spin Doctors.  “A great day for Columbia,” said Dr. Gary Schwartz, head of the cancer center.  The 2nd annual Velocity will take place in October, 2018.  velocityride.org
