Columbia’s Velocity Returns to Ride to the End of Cancer

October 7, 2018

NEW YORK, October 7, 2018 — In its second year, Velocity, Columbia’s Ride to End Cancer increased significantly in size and scope in the institution’s first foray into the peer-to-peer fundraising event landscape.  “We were thrilled to see a significant increase in not only riders, but fundraising,” said Olive Isaacs, Director at Eventage who oversees recruitment and fundraising. Velocity saw a 25% increase in both riders and fundraising and raised $1 million for the Columbia University Irving Cancer Center.  Over the course of two years, Eventage and Columbia designed Velocity to be an all-inclusive yet challenging cycling event in which riders can choose four distances along one route from the Hudson Valley to Columbia’s campus in upper Manhattan.  The 2019 Velocity Ride will take place on October 6, 2019.
