In the insanely crowded marketplace of cancer institutions in NYC, Columbia University Medical Center’s world-renowned research and care had been getting lost in the shuffle behind other name brands. That’s why we created Velocity — NYC’s newest cycling event. Velocity’s unique design has four distances and one route: A group of riders start 62.5 miles north of the city, in the beautiful Hudson Valley. They then head south, with more riders merging in at 45, 25 and 10 miles from the finish. Everyone crosses the majestic George Washington Bridge together, ending at CUMC’s campus for a Finish Line Festival celebration. In its first year, Velocity raised an amazing $1.4 million and we’re excited for the encore in 2018. Visit velocityride.org for more.
