Bike Expo New York Attracts 42,000 in Inaugural Year

NEW YORK, May 5, 2012 – At the first-ever Bike Expo New York held at Basketball City on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, more than 42,000 cycling enthusiasts visited over three days in preparation for the nation’s largest cycling event, Bike New York’s TD Five Boro Bike Tour.  Eventage produced the Expo in partnership with Bike New York and also continued its 10-year history as a production partner on the Tour.  Bike New York’s President and CEO Ken Podziba said of the Expo, “It was a huge success.  There’s no one better than Eventage — the most talented group of event people I’ve ever met.”

Emeril and jcpenney Launch Partnership in NYC

NEW YORK, April 4, 2012 – Retailer jcpenney today announced its new partnership with iconic chef Emeril Lagasse at a press conference and public tasting event at Greeley Square Park in Manhattan.  Emeril introduced his new line of high-performance cookware and welcomed surprise guest Martha Stewart to the stage.  After the press conference, Lagasse moved to a branded food truck positioned adjacent to the park and distributed 2,000 chicken sausage gumbo samples to the public.   Eventage handled all aspects of the event for client jcpenney of Plano, Texas.

NYC Half Marathoners Fueled by Eventage

NEW YORK, March 18, 2012 — Fifteen thousand runners took part in the largest-ever New York Roadrunners NYC Half Marathon today.  Eventage returned for its 7th year as managers of the fluid and medical stations along the course, which this year made its way from Central Park through Times Square, across to West Street and the finish in Lower Manhattan on Water Street.  Eventage provided 110 staff to run the 8 medical and 11 fluid stations and premiered a Google Voice and Google Docs staff check-in and monitoring system which enabled the management team to effectively track and re-allocate resources during the event.  The event was covered live on ABC7 in New York.

Eventage’s Glass Speaks at Run Walk Ride Conference

ATLANTA, March 7, 2012 - Eventage Partner and Chief Creative Officer Matt Glass once again presented to the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Conference at the InterContinental Buckhead here today.  Glass’s session, presented in conjunction with Eventage client Lynn DeHoyos from the Alzheimer’s Association, focused on defining an event’s brand and bringing it to life.  Glass and DeHoyos used Eventage’s work on the Walk to End Alzheimer’s to demonstrate the power of experiential elements at events.  Glass also moderated two roundtables, one on walk logistics and management and another on fundraising strategies.  Eventage also helped Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council President David Hessekiel with the production of the conference, including graphics, scripting, show flow and music.

DC STEM Summit Heeds President’s Call to Action

WASHINGTON, DC, February 21, 2012 — At Google’s DC headquarters today, more than 150 leaders in education gathered for the 100Kin10 Partner Summit produced by Eventage in collaboration with Executive Producer Peter Kohlmann.  100Kin10 is a movement to answer President Obama’s call to recruit 100,000 STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) teachers in the next 10 years.  Secretary of Education Arne Duncan spoke at the event, which featured plenary panels, interactive breakouts and a Pecha Kucha session during lunch, where 4 presenters offered 20 slides for 20 seconds each.  The summit was conceived by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and Opportunity Equation.  Visit 100kin10.org for more information.

Eventage Helps Sharp Go Big at CES

LAS VEGAS, January 9, 2012 — With 130,000 people from around the world headed to Las Vegas for the International Consumer Electronics Show, Sharp’s press conference on media day presented what’s next in office

productivity and big screen LED technology.  Eventage produced the dynamic 45-minute press conference for the brand, including a custom-designed set and the reveal of an 80″ Sharp LED 3D TV atop a Smart car to demonstrate just how big Sharp’s Viewmongous screens really are.  The branded Smart car will now spend 3 days driving through Las Vegas with a prop version of the 80″ on top of it, encouraging CES attendees to tweet a photo of the vehicle to win the television.  Eventage also handled scripting, audio, graphics, lighting, technology, venue management, staffing, stage management and overall production oversight.
